Day 4

I can hardly remember what day of the week it is, let alone what day of our trip we are on. Yesterday (Day 4) did not start out well at all. We got a late start getting out of the hotel because I was feeling so miserable (just sinus trouble, I'm fine now). We changed our plans for the day because I was feeling so off. We ended up going to Columbian Park in Lafayette. It's a huge park with tons of playground equipment. I believe there is a train that goes around the duck pond (though, we never saw the train while we were there). And, there is also a small, free (LOVE that word) zoo in the center of the park. I wasn't feeling 100% but Cayden seemed to enjoy himself. There weren't a lot of animals, but enough to keep him satisfied. And, did I mention, it was free?!

"Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree. Mighty, mighty king of the bush is he..."

Afterward we were looking for XXX Family Restaurant (as seen on Diners, Drive-In's and Dives on Food Network), but true to form, our GPS could not find it. So, we went to Route 66 Diner, which happens to be owned by the same people. All you car lovers out there would have loved it. It's just a small place with mismatched metal chairs and metal tables. But, the walls are cluttered with various car parts - hub caps, belts, license plates, metal signs, you name it. Sorry, we forgot to take our camera inside. But, I bet you could Google it and see some pics. On the way out, Cayden picked out a feather shaped lollipop from the head dress of a wooden Indian (yeah, he's already eaten it).

Following lunch we headed to a place called Bouncer Town. It is what it sounds like. It's comparable to Chuck E Cheese's except all the play area things are replaced with inflatables. He had a blast on the inflatable slides, etc., and winning tickets in the arcade. Sorry, all the pics are blurry and the videos take FOR-EVER to upload.

By the end of the day we were all just beat. Neither Jay nor I had the energy or desire to upload pics or work on the blog. But, hey, that means the 2 of you that actually read this will get to read two today (lucky you) - if Facebook sees fit to actually post them.

Thankfully I woke up today feeling much better - at least as far as the sinus trouble goes. I am, however, so sore. I believe I'm getting too old (confirmed by the amount of gray hair I'm finding lately).

Here's the link to Jay's Facebook album for a few more pics, if you're so inclined: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=435411&id=792425505&l=6845c0bf9c
