Day 3

Today we spent the majority of our day (5 and 1/2 hours!) at the Indianapolis Children's Museum. It's an incredible place. Not surprisingly, it's huge! Cayden was so excited to get there. He couldn't decide what to do first. He just kept running from place to place. As I was looking through the pictures from today, there were so many that I wanted to share here (don't worry, I edited it down to just a few). There was so much to see and do. We asked Cayden what was his favorite part of the museum and he said he couldn't decide. I can't either. But, I had to decide on something to share. So, here is the one exhibit I decided to share about:

Cayden is standing next to a blown "glass" sculpture that he made. It's a little post with lots of holes and then each of those colored "glass" objects can be placed in (it's like a big, abstract version of those ceramic Christmas trees with the individual lights that you put in). Cayden loved putting this together - and was very protective of it.
The ceiling in the exhibit room looked like this. It's all hand blown glass objects and it's actually the base of the sculpture you see below. So, we were actually playing underneath the sculpture. In the middle of the exhibit room is a round seating area that slowly spins so you can sit and look up at this beautiful art. It's kind of like you're inside a kaleidoscope.

Like I said, that is just one of the amazing exhibits at this awesome place. If I can't even decide which pictures to show, imagine how great it was to get to play in all those exhibits. :)

By the way, if you ever wondered (wondered whatever became of me... oops, sorry, that's my mind wandering :D), this is what "just a little sleepy" looks like:

Below is the link to Jay's Facebook album with a few more pictures. Also the link to a cute video of Liam from a little play area in the museum. And, the link to a video post card Cayden put together in an exhibit all about what it's like to live in Egypt (I apologize now if it doesn't show Cayden's face. It's supposed to, but it didn't when I just tried to watch it. However, it did have Cayen's voice).

After a rest at the hotel we headed to dinner. We ended up at Max and Erma's. We weren't thrilled. When we go on trips, we like to eat at places we wouldn't normally be able to eat when home. But, the outdated (and not likely to be updated b/c it costs a ridiculous $70) GPS lead us on a wild goose chase to find a place. After close to an hour we just had to end up somewhere acceptable to everyone (and by that I mean, a place acceptable to Cayden where Jay and I could find a reasonably adult meal). So glad we did, otherwise Jay wouldn't have been able to enjoy his "just OK" chicken pot pie and I would have missed out on my bowl of warm pizza sauce, oh, I mean tomato basil soup. Yum. :P And we would have also missed out on the delightful fellow one table over who, not so shly, droned on and on about every topic imaginable, all of which he seemed to be an expert on. :P Too bad such a nice day had to end with such a mediocre dinner. And, too bad your day had to end with this mediocre blog post.
