First, Summer:

In mid-August we went on vacation to North Myrtle Beach. Cayden did really well. He enjoyed watching the waves and even feeling the water roll over his feet.

He LOVED playing in the sand (though I did my best at first to keep him out of it).

He liked watching the fish at Ripley's Aquarium.

We took a "sunset cruise" that he seemed to enjoy as well.

He even tried his hand at mini-golf.

The beach house we stayed in had a pool and Cayden had lots of fun in there too. Against my better judgement I have posted a not-so-flattering picture of myself and Cayden in the pool.
And now, on to Fall:
Cayden is crawling all over the place. He can easily maneuver himself through our house. He is also pulling himself up - anything that is elevated even the slightest bit off the ground is suitable for his "pulling" needs. :o) He is also standing holding on to nothing for seconds at a time. He seems to be consciously trying to balance himself and he is sitting himself down rather than falling. ;o) He is cruising a little bit as well. The most recent development is that, even though he's not walking yet, he is climbing. He uses his little Fisher Price chair to climb up on the couch. He's so funny now b/c he'll look around when he does something to make sure someone sees him. About the only thing that will hold his interest for any length of time is concentrating on picking up his Cheerios and getting them in his mouth. Beyond that, he will jump from toy to toy or - more likely - find something way more interesting that is definitely not a toy. He has his favorite books picked out and we must go through all of them before he takes his naps - if you call 30 minutes a nap. Yes, we are back to only 30 min naps around here. And, unfortunately, he is up 2-3 times a night. I don't know what happened, we were doing so well.... There are no new developments on the "talking front". He is still babbling away but there are no new words to report. For now, that seems to be everything. I'll leave you with a couple more pictures to enjoy:
